Youth classes expand at Apico 2-Stroke Festival https://www.motoheadmag.com/youth-classes-expand-at-apico-2-stroke-festival/ Fri, 14 Jul 2023 12:14:30 +0000 https://www.motoheadmag.com/?p=38182 The Apico 2-Stroke Festival, featuring the Red Bull Pro Stroke Nationals, is proving to be the UK’s premier destination for up-and-coming youth motocross talent with the introduction of a new qualifying system.

Thanks to the popularity of the Youth 125cc group, the team behind the Festival has decided to give more riders in the 125/250F class the chance to race by hosting a timed morning qualifying session which will result in A and B Group races. The addition of qualifying will create a new classification which, in turn, will free up an extra 20 places and allow the growing list of reserve riders the opportunity to participate in the expanding Festival.

“The weekend is a fantastic platform for young riders to showcase their skills and gain experience,” said Apico 2-Stroke Festival promoter Dave Willet. “We know that with hard work and dedication, there’ll be plenty of future champions amongst our riders and we want them all to enjoy the Festival.”

The Apico 2-Stroke Festival returns to the traditionally-styled motocross track at Sellindge, Kent, over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of July 2023.

Rider entries are still open via Go Race MX

Nunn better at Blaxhall! https://www.motoheadmag.com/nunn-better-at-blaxhall/ Tue, 23 Aug 2022 10:31:25 +0000 http://www.motoheadmag.com/?p=35654 This Sunday saw the Stebbings Car Superstore / PP Sports Insurance Eastern ACU Motocross Championship return to Blaxhall near Woodbridge for the fifth round. Once again, the Blaxhall Circuit was in great condition, with the Woodbridge DMCC spending the days leading up to the event, pumping water onto the race circuit to ensure the track was in good condition to cope with the heat come race day.

Premier Race 1 start

The racing featured 150 riders contesting across 12 races during the day and produced some red-hot action on track. In the Premier Class, the Experts and fastest Juniors competed together for Championship points.

Shaun Southgate

In the opening Premier race, it was Luke Benstead who got the start and early race lead, but Shaun Southgate soon made a pass for the lead. Later in the race a bike problem saw Benstead drop out of the race. It was Shaun Southgate who battled for the lead with Sam Nunn who was riding a 450 for the first time. As the race progressed Nunn moved into the lead and took the race win over Southgate in second with Luke Parker in third, with Declan Whittle and Max Broadbelt in fourth and fifth. In the Junior class it was Joseph Leeks who was first home ahead of Travis Frost and Ben Hayward.

Sam Nunn

The second Premier class race saw Southgate make the start as Nunn almost went down in the first turn. Southgate rode a strong race to claim the race win ahead of Nunn who recovered to take second. Parker and Whittle battled for third place but collided on the last lap and both went down, handing third to Benstead. Whittle remounted to take fourth and Parker in fifth. Once again Leeks took the Junior win ahead of Ben Hayward and Travis Frost.

Premier Race 2 Start

The final Premier class race saw Sam Nunn make the start and battle with Southgate for the race win. Going into the race the pair were tied on points and the winner of the final race would claim the overall win. In the opening laps Southgate managed to pass Nunn and looked to be comfortable at the front until Nunn made a late charge and retook the lead and the race win. Third place went to Benstead with Broadbelt in fourth and Parker fifth. In the Junior class Leeks made it three out of three with another race win ahead of Finley Jarvis and Travis Frost.

Luke Benstead

The Expert overall saw Sam Nunn take the overall ahead of Shaun Southgate and Luke Parker. In the Junior class the overall went to Joseph Leeks ahead of Travis Frost and Finley Jarvis.

Junior Action

In the Support A group, it was Charlie Nude who took all three race wins to claim the overall victory ahead of Louis Dutton who went 3-2-2 for second overall. Third overall went to Josh Sturman who went 4-7-3.

Joesph Leeks

The Support B group it was Lewis Holmes who claimed the overall victory after a poor first race, he came back with two race wins to take the victory. Second overall went to race one winner Scott Goodson, with Bradley Allen third overall.

Championship leader Luke Parker

It was Shaun Tracy who took the overall victory in Support C with three race wins ahead of David Homan and Tony Rooke. Words and pics Image Rich Media

Scot MX sizzler at Lochgilphead https://www.motoheadmag.com/scot-mx-sizzler-at-lochgilphead/ Tue, 26 Apr 2022 11:05:29 +0000 http://www.motoheadmag.com/?p=34530 With lockdown restrictions easing and a full motocross schedule all over the UK, there were bound to be a few clashes for race organisers to deal with. The ScotMX Championship, powered by Milwaukee, had a strong rider turn out at Lochgilphead to make sure the series is still the one to win. The old school hard pack track at Achnashelloch Farm, Lochgilphead has seen many fast and furious race meetings in years gone by and this weekend was no different. To win any championship, riders need to demonstrate their skills across a varied style of tracks and this would show who could ride hard pack after the deep sand of Tain at round 1. Lochgilphead is a few miles from the famous Kilmartin Track which saw the 250 Grand Prix visit in 1978. Located near the old iron age Dundadd Fort, the seat of Gaelic Kings (500-800AD), we would see who would be crowned King for a day as the riders would do battle.

MX1 AMD Holeshot

The weather was favourable as the sun shone all weekend and the track conditions were perfect, credit to owner Stewart Campbell and his clan who worked hard to get it prepped. Stuart Flockhart and his ScotMX team, with the support of his growing list of sponsors pulled off yet another an amazing weekend

Traditionally, the Saturday is day is all about the kids with an Adult support class making up the days race schedule.

Robbie Scott – 65 Winner

Autos

With three races on the Saturday and only the one on the Sunday, the Auto’s were the first up to get the meeting rolling.

Zak Hendry got out the gate fast and won all his races easily. He grabbed the AMD hole-shots and disappeared in each race. The next four riders would provide some great close racing as they all challenged for podium places and the were hard fought and well earned. The much improved Ivan Williamson would get a quick start and bag two thirds but it was not enough to beat Tucker Moffat and Lyall Rutherford and would secure the podiums with consistent riding. Although Caleb Shearer had a third in the first race, a poor finish in race 2 would result in an overall 5th. Harris Curran had a good weekend and rode steadily to round out the top 6.

65s

It was Robbie Scott that would win the battle of the 65’s but Malachi Allan pushed him all the way. Robbie had a faultless Saturday with three wins but Malachi showed he had the pace on the Sunday as he dominated the 4th race with a clear win. Kyle Graham, Kian McGill and Jamie McKee had some close racing, changing places throughout the weekend but Kyle’s consistent finishes earned him a well deserved podium. Kian edged 4th ahead of Jamie as he showed early promise with a 3rd in the first race. Hayden Gibson had a poor finish in the 1st race and it would limit what could do for the overall over the weekend but he did secure 6th.

85 SWBW Start

85s SW/BW

The SW and BW always provide some of the closest racing over the weekend as the SW do their best to mix it with their BW counterparts. There’s a lot at of pride at stake as the youngsters fight to show who’s boss.

SW

There was a great battle between two young Scottish and Irish riders as Jaden Anderson tried everything to beat Lewis Spratt. The pair did their best to entertain and it would be Lewis who won the overall as three race wins showed he had the speed and the consistency to edge Jaden. Alfie Stott’s two thirds was enough to ease the last podium but James McGowan and Checoby Rainey would keep him honest. Robbie Pearce had a solid weekend to finish 6th overall.

BW

Jack Fletcher dominated in true style. He would hole-shot and gap the field in every race. Benas Blazevicius would do his best to push Jack as he did enough to stay clear of Ryan McKinney who’s second and two thirds was just not enough to grab second. Troy Flockhart and Ryan McKinney had some real close battles throughout the weekend with Troy’s amazing whips over the table tops providing some jaw dropping moments but he just missed out on a podium. Guy McDonald and Ewen McPherson would have their own battles to finish out the top 6 but Harrison Byers was unlucky to miss out on the placings as he finished on the same points as Ewan. There was a notable first outing for #27 Harry Nunn who bagged overall 10th in his very first race meeting.

Zak Hendry – Auto Winner

Rookies

The rookies race never disappoints. As the young guns battle it out for places, the results are never predictable. Charley Irwin’s 5th in race 1 was not enough to dent his overall 1st place as his smooth consistent riding resulted in three first places. Ayden Smith’s first race crash on the start straight would mean he had to ride like a demon through the pack and he managed to get back to 4th but his three second places would ultimately mean runner up. Marley Nelson had a great weekend as he grabbed the hole-shot in race 1 and battled with Logan Ferguson but Logan would secure the win. The pair would swap places throughout the weekend with Marley coming out on top for the final podium place as Logan narrowly missed out. Calum Moore and Ryan Lowes weren’t too far behind the front runners as they pushed each other for top six places. Tony McCann missed out on a top 6 with a DNF in the final race.

Lewis Farrow Vets 40 Winner

Adult Support

There was a good mix of riders in the Adult support race. No championship to worry about, just some good old fashioned racing. Reece Dawson and Ewan Kermack would battle it out in the first race for the win but Adam Slavin would dominate the other races. There was only 1 second between the six riders so it was hard fought at times. Toby Lightbrown and Ivan Williamson had their moments, as did Jordan Kerr and Lewis Campbell who was not far away. Dylan Grieve had a run out to bed himself in for Sunday’s racing but a bike issue would mean he would need to save it for Sunday.

The main race day is Siunday for the ScotMX Championship, Powered by Milwaukee which attracts some of the top talent in the country. As well as all the great youths that raced on the Saturday, it was the turn of the Adults to see who would be crowned winners. With the prospect of Martin Barr (MX1) and Lewis Hall (MX2) travelling from Northern Ireland and England respectively, they would be banging bars with some of Scotland’s finest.

Josh Gray Adult B

Vets 40,50 and 60

Sean Doherty was on hand to provide some entertaining commentary as he jokingly shouted over the public address system for the Vets to be woken from their slumber and get to the gate. No slouch himself, Shaun is more than qualified to commentate on the riders abilities as he rode at the top level of Scottish Motocross for many years.

In the o40’s and overall race, Lewis Farrow left the rest for dead and he literally disappeared in all three races. Alan Deans did enough ahead of Irishman Paul Carey who pushed hard but small mistakes cost him the 2nd place. Tony “Mad Dog” Whitelaw rode like his nickname and with some determined riding and showed why he deserved the top step ahead of Graham Anderson and Ian Wilson in the o50’s. Douglas Garrick was a lonely figure in the o60’s as he was the only rider.

Adult C

Gary Lockyer won all three races and set out his stall by grabbing hole-shot in the first race and pushed hard but he didn’t make it easy for himself in the last race as he had to ride through the pack after a first corner tangle. There was some real carnage in the second race as a mid pack crash caused many riders to DNF, two of the riders being seriously injured. The racing was suspended whilst the emergency services made sure the riders were attended to. After the break, racing resumed, and Lewis Fleming would ride for a second overall as he managed to stay ahead of William Anderson and Jordan Aitchison. Although William got the third race hole-shot, he couldn’t maintain the pace and ran out overall fourth behind Jordan. Scott Forsyth and Darren Wilkinson were in the mix and rounded out the top six with some solid riding and only 1 point between them.

Adult B

Josh Gray put a forgettable round 1 at Tain behind him and showed his true potential by winning all three races from the hole-shot. He ripped his 2 stroke KTM round the track and looked like he was having fun as he pulled whips with ease over the jumps. Niall McAulley was not too far behind as he rode within a second of Josh in the first race but Dylan Grieve would beat him into third. In the second race Niall finished ahead of the improved Myles Reid who would’ve placed higher this weekend if not for a first corner slide as he picked himself off the deck shaking his head. Dylan did enough to get the last podium after Niall even with a poor second race as Toby Lightbrown pushed for the podium place but just missed out after a challenging third race. Ryan Garthwaite stayed ahead of Myles Reid for the fifth place as Myles top six was a mild consolation for what could’ve been.

Ross Rutherford MX1

MX1/MX2

The premier race of the day had the MX1 and MX2 pit their wits and hard pack skills against each other in the joint race. Martin Barr was looking to build on his recent outings and get more bike time working towards full fitness. The track would be a stern test of that.

Tony Craig pushed Barr all the way in qualifying as the Irishman grabbed to pole by 0.1 of a second. The luckless Craig however left the track at one point and smashed his bike into a boulder which wrecked his bike meaning he had to borrow a spare from one of his friends. With Ben Edwards posting some fast times, and the next top seven riders within a few seconds, it would result in some fearsome racing.

Kyle McNicol MX2

Tony Craig blasted out of the furthest gate and narrowly grabbed the hole-shot in race 1 on a borrowed 450, but it wasn’t long before Martin Barr settled into his usual front running race winning position by lapping fast and consistently. Craig pushed hard every lap to stay in contention and he was right there until the second last lap when Ross “Bunga” Rutherford who had been tailing the leaders took Craig and finished second. Ben Edwards worked hard all race and got passed Kyle McNicol and Jordan McCaw before he got in front of Craig for the final top 3 spot in race 1. With McNicol finishing first in MX2, Lewis Hall was only 2s behind. Steven Craig would round out the top 3 in the first MX2 race.

The second race was delayed due to the earlier suspension of racing. As a result, the races were being shortened by 5 mins and Martin Barr wasted no time is blasting out front and gapping the field. Lewis Hall meantime battled from 6th to third just as Barr went down hard at the top of the track as he came round a corner and lost his front end. This ended his race and his weekend as he suffered a nasty cut on his forearm and a shoulder injury. As a result of Barr’s misfortune, Ben Edwards was now running first after having already maintaining second the whole race ahead of Bunga, who had McCaw and McNicol battling behind him. Lewis Hall relished the chance of the overall race win as he managed to dive in front of Edwards to get the race win and 1st in MX2. Ben although second in the race would win the MX1 with Bunga 2nd and McCaw getting 3rd. The next two MX2 places went to McNicol and Steven Craig respectively.

Charley Irwin Rookie Winner

With the chance of the overall win in MX1, Ben Edwards was taking no chances in race three as he blasted to the front and stayed there for the overall MX1 for the weekend. With no Tony Craig to push him in this race due to a DNF in the second and no bike for the third race, it was down to Ryan MacLean to show he still had race pace. A big crash earlier in the day had seen him fly over the bars and bang him up but he still had enough to finish second. McCaw and McNicol would continue their battle, albeit MX1 vs MX2 but very entertaining for the crowd who had stayed in numbers to watch the final race of the day. Bunga, never to be underestimated, had done enough to secure the overall second in MX1. After some hard fought racing, the Irishman Jordan McCaw secured the final podium in MX1 as Ryan MacLean missed out by 1 point after improving throughout the day. His knee was like a football as he collected his prize money but he’ll bounce back. It was a tough day for Martin Barr and Tony Craig for different reasons but here’s hoping they’re back for round 3 to renew the battle.

Ben Edwards MX1 Winner

MX2 was decided in race three as Lewis Hall’s second place made sure he beat Kyle McNicol to the top step. Lewis grew up riding hard pack at his local track and this had paid dividends. Nice to see his hard work rewarded. It was also a confidence building weekend for McNicol as he relished mixing it with the bigger MX1 bikes. A well deserved podium for Steven Craig as a change of bike has meant a change of fortune for him.

Husband takes early Ecosse lead https://www.motoheadmag.com/husband-takes-early-ecosse-lead/ Thu, 16 Dec 2021 11:58:09 +0000 http://www.motoheadmag.com/?p=33034 Top level motocross returned to northeast Scotland on Sunday when the hard-working Ecosse XC, club returned to Tyninghame Links with its popular SACU Winter MX series, for the first time since early 2020.

Husband took A group victory with two wins and a second

Inclement weather conditions in the weeks leading up to the event, meant the deep-sand track was not as dry as in previous years, which made for deeply rutted and difficult race conditions. However, the 250-plus riders who turned out for the much-anticipated event, managed to cope with the situation and early reports indicate that a good time was had by all.

BW rider Ryan Waggott was in a class of his own

The hard-charging A group riders enjoyed plenty of action with Carlton Husband taking the overall on the day ahead of Sam Atkinson and Daniel Hutchinson. In the first moto, Hutchinson was in an early lead, but was passed by Husband at mid-race distance. Husband held the lead to the flag, with Hutchinson second. Fort moved steadily through from fifth to third while Graham Blacklock, who had dropped down from second after the start, brought it home in fourth. Euan McConnel was fifth and Atkinson sixth.

C class winner Michael McLarty getting to grips with the rutting Tyinghame track

Hutchinson was again first off the line in the second race, with Husband a close second. Positions switched on the second lap and Husband romped home to the finish line over 20 seconds ahead of Hutchinson. Atkinson kept a steady pace to finish a close third. Dan Bewley was fourth, Fort fifth and James Barker worked hard to finish sixth, from a 13th place start.

Eager youngsters line up for the opening round of the 2021_22 Ecosse XC Winter MX Series

The racing continued to be hard, fast and close in the third outing for the As. Atkinson snatched the lead from Husband around two-thirds race distance, relegating Husband to second by just over a second although Husband posted the fastest class lap time of 2:15.589 on lap two. Bewley was third and Barker again came from the middle of the pack to claim fourth. Hutchinson started well and held the lead for two laps in the early stages, but tailed off in the last lap to finish fifth Fort was sixth.

C – 1 start

Forty-two riders lined up for the B class which was headed by Ryan Garthwaite with flag-to-flag wins in the first two races and Jack Winthrop and Ivan Williams securing second and third. Taylor Misselbrook, Jack Hunter and Zander Martin took the fourth to sixth finish slots. The same three riders were out front in the second race with Robbie Scott and Austin Mowbray taking fourth and fifth.

Ryan Garthwaite posted three wins from three starts in the Ecosse B class

In the final moto, Winthrop was flying off the start and maintained the lead until the closing seconds of the race when Garthwaite snatched victory with the finish line in sight. A little further back, Williamson and Scott enjoyed a battle for third and fourth with Jack Hunter picking off a few riders to take fifth and Paul McClung sixth.

An equally packed grid of riders turned out for the C class. Michael McLarty won the first race ahead of Louis Tobin, a gap of around 30 seconds then saw Ross Bradley take third. Gavin Lowes William Anderson and Robbie MacKenzie. Martyn Lyell started well in second but fell back through the pack to ninth. McLarty was pushed by Bradley in the second race but held on to take the lead with a slight margin of 1.46 seconds as the chequered flag fell. Stuart Wilson, Lyell, Anderson, and MacKenzie completed the top six. The last race saw a change of leader with Wilson putting in a strong performance to secure the win by just under six seconds ahead of Lyell and McLarty. MacKenzie claimed fourth, Bradley fifth and Anderson sixth.

SWs – #48 Hayden Statt, #19 Scott McPhee, #38 Liam Bell, #130 Leo Self pile into first corner

In the combined Rookies and Vets class, the youngsters were out front on track with Ayden Smith who enjoyed a comfortable race one win. The battle was on behind him between Jay Cheel, Bradley Johnstone, and Charlie Henderson then Tyla Hooley and Ryan Gerrard. Top Vet was Michael Graham in ninth, Alan Thain was 12th and Gordon Morrison 14th – take one-two-three in the Vets group. The Vets gave the Rookies a run for their money in the second outing when Graham held a strong lead for the first few laps while Hooley blasted his way through the field from 10th off the line to take the lead on the last lap. Smith worked his way up from sixth to take second and Graham held on to third on track and the Vets win. Seventh in the race gave Thain a third place in the Vets category. Race 3, and Graham again showed the Rookies his rear wheel in the early stages. He was passed by Smith and then Hooley at the halfway point. He held onto third and won his class with Cheel, Henderson and Johnstone behind. Second place Vets was Thain in seventh and then Morrison 11th.

Third overall 65cc runner Callum Smith styles it up for the camera

The SW and BW 85s ran together, with the big-wheels dominating on the track. Ryan Waggot was in a class of his own winning all three races in style. He blasted off the line, putting significant distance between himself Ryan Haddow to win the first race by over one minute. Haddow and Lucy Barker were evenly matched in second and third. Rhys Whyment held a steady and strong second until the last lap when he fell to fourth. Ebony Brown finished fifth and Zac Cheel sixth. Liam Bell was the top small-wheel rider, finishing seventh in the race. Hayden Statt was second in class, eight on track and Leo Self third and 12th.

Husband #6 pops a wheelie behind #138 Daniel Hutchinson as the As get underway

The second moto was a duplicate of race one for Waggott. Whyment held second from the end of lap one and Barker looked good in third. Haddow was fourth and Statt put in a sterling performance to win the SW category and claim fifth in the race itself. Brown was sixth and Bell, the second SW rider, seventh. Scott was third home for the SWs in ninth. En route to another victory, Waggott posted a best lap time of the day in the opening lap of the last race – 1:36.345. Barker and Whyment were evenly placed lapping in second and third with Barlow getting the edge at the finish line. Haddow took a start to finish fourth, while Statt and Bell mirrored each other in terms of pace to pull up from the middle of the pack to round out the top six. Bell was second in the SWs and Lucas Lee third.

The Rookies were on a charge. #118 Aidee Smith, #23 Charlie Henderson, #666 Ayden Smith, #70 Jay Cheel, #21 Billy Hauxwell

Twenty 65cc riders on the line witnessed Harry Hall take the first win ahead of Callum Smith, Jay Cooper, Brooklyn Tinkler, Caleb Shearer and Olly O’Brien. Race two, and Cooper moved up from sixth off the line to pass Smith on the fourth lap. Hall charged through from 12th to take fourth with Smith, Tinkler, Hall, Shearer and Baili Black – making up the top six finishers. Hall was back out front in the last race with a straight start-to-finish win, some 26-plus seconds ahead of Cooper who also held his start position to the finish, as did Shearer in third. Close racing ensued between Black, Maddox Patterson and Tinkler who rounded out the top six. Young Annabelle Bolt – cheered on from the trackside by big brother and World Champ Billy – proved to be one to watch by finishing a creditable eighth overall.

SW winner Hayden Statt

Generations battle in Sidcup thriller https://www.motoheadmag.com/generations-battle-in-sidcup-thriller/ Thu, 15 Jul 2021 09:56:29 +0000 http://www.motoheadmag.com/?p=31257 Youngsters ruled round two of the south-eastern centre motocross championship, staged by the Sidcup club as Ike Carter (KTM) won all three legs of the “A” group and was followed over the finish line each time by the on-form Bobby Bruce (ASA United Gas Gas) on his little 125.

Billy Mackenzie on the CR500

But the youngsters didn’t have it all their own way, as third overall was an ex-British champion and GP rider Billy Mackenzie on a 500cc two-stroke Honda, a bike that was probably older than the two riders in front of him. Fourth place was the local rider and fellow GP campaigner, Mark Eastwood (Eastwood Racing Wiseco Honda). So never count the older riders out.

The famous Canada Heights track was in excellent condition, with the rain in the week before keeping dust away for some fast-racing action.

Ice Carter leads

Bruce was always going to be outgunned on his 125 two-stroke machine up the long Canada Heights start straight against the bigger four-stroke bike, so as Carter got the holeshot at the start of “A” race one, Bruce was mid-pack, but everyone knew he was not going to stay there.

Mark Eastwood was the local hero

By the end of the opening lap, and as Carter already started to stretch his lead, Bruce was already in second and was doing all he could to close the gap to the leader. While this was going on, Mackenzie, after a mid-pack start, dumped his Honda in a downhill turn and dropped back to thirty-seventh place.

Carter has crossed the finish line just under fifteen seconds’ clear of Bruce, with Shaun Springer (Gas Gas) and Eastwood crossing this line almost together.

Carter is in fine form

“A” race two was almost the same as the first race, with Carter getting his second holeshot and being unchallenged to the flag. Mackenzie spent half of the race in second till Bruce passed him on his 125 in the air over the big container jump. Bruce was second again from Mackenzie, with Junior Thomas a distant fourth as Springer and Eastwood chased him over the finish line.

Bobby Bruce on the screaming 125

Once again, Carter led the third and final “A” group from the drop of the gate to the flag. Mackenzie chased him around the opening laps till, once again, Bruce came past him to snatch second off him.

Eastwood spent most of the race in fourth as the fast-starting Thomas dropped from second at the start to an eventual fifth.

Carter showing his style

So overall, it was a clean sweep for Carter from Bruce, Mackenzie, Eastwood, Springer and Thomas.

Matthew Pocock (MGP Steel Yamaha) won all three of the “B” group from Jordan Ambler (KTM) and with Jordan Andrews (KTM) taking the last place on the group winners podium.

Michael Wood (Kawasaki) won “C” from Lewis Bryant (LDB Installations Honda) and Billy Powell (Honda).

Christopher Stemp (Honda) was all three of the “D” races from Danny James (Kawasaki) and Barry Hellier (Yamaha).

With two wins and a second-place, David Williams (Yamaha) won the Vets over thirty-five overall from race three winner John Hinz (Yamaha) and James Jackman (Motoward Yamaha). Words and pics by Dick Law
